Arts Nexus is the peak development agency for the creative sectors and communities of Tropical North Queensland. Through strategic programs, research and advocacy we grow and raise awareness of our region's arts and cultural development.

Arts Nexus connects artists, creative producers, organisations, enterprises and communities. Our knowledge of the region and networks makes us an effective conduit for communities, governments and industries.

Creative Sector Development
Supporting producers and people to make creative projects happen across all art forms.

Community Cultural Participation
Supporting people to live, consume and contribute to culture. Building region-wide community participation in cultural activity: including public art, festivals, creative community projects and cultural policy development.

Advocacy
Building recognition of creative producers and communities of Tropical North Queensland. Advocating to all levels of government and industry on issues and priorities for the creative sector.

Partnerships
Creating and developing partnerships across communities, governments and industries to produce one strong voice for the region in cultural development.

Cultural development is an essential part of social growth. It is a major contributor to economic development and requires the same level of investment as any other essential industry.

• Increase awareness, across communities, governments and business, of the essential role creative industries play in economic development

• Build and champion collaborative partnerships across all creative industry stakeholders, state-wide and regionally to enable:
- More professional services made available in our region
- Greater opportunities for creative development
- Equitable access to state and federal funding

• Provide leadership for our region to have a strong and unified voice in the future development of creative industries

• Work in partnership with all creative and cultural development stakeholders to increase investment in our region’s creative industries
